Heres some things I remember from when I started playing GW since day one. (I don't play anymore)
In no particular order:
No one knew what ecto was and people sold it to merchant for a whole 100g.
When prices for everything were low and when 500g seemed like a lot.
When in Tomb of the Primeval Kingdom, now HA, parties were made using anyone with random invites. I remember about 2 weeks after the game was released and I just made it to Dragons Lair with my pve char, I decided to go to the ToPK and joined a party thinking this was another mission. On our first run we made it to HoH but didn't win. I remember asking so many questions as to where are we, why are we here fighting people not monsters and why there were so many Koreans with weird names. We made a good amount of fame.
I also remember the craziness over FDS, fellblade and chaos axes.
When Europe was the easiest teams to beat in GVG.
When everything was new, exciting and interesting having done it for the first time.
Good times.

i remember the days when fow/uw were the ultra elite areas that few could conquer.
i remember america having favor all day and night.
i remember daily updates, and the addition of sorrows furnace.
the monk strike that took place in thk.
when you could join a pug with near 100% chance of completion.
when you saw a person with fow, you thought that it was a person from anet.

Fighting Korean spirit spammer teams in HoH...and losing
When every single team in PVP was a bunch of IWAY warriors
Taking henchmen to a guild battle because, hey, they can't be THAT bad
Losing THK 10+ times and being elated when a guild monk was on
Thinking SF was going to completely reinvigorate the game for me
Last, wondering wtf a mini pet was when I got on after a 6 month break or so

Fondest memory?

I remember when PvE was a multiplayer game.

Ahh... I feel so depressed now.

I remember when I first arrived in Ascalon, after searing, and exploring it for hours to find new outposts.
I remember when I first arrived in Droknar's Forge, I was so proud. I then farmed for hours to get my platemail set.
I remember joining a guild where people where happy and where it didn't seem like a competition.
I remember when you could find a good PUG and succeed almost everytime.

And above all, I remember when the community was friendly and mature. There wasn't mass ammount of immature brats running around spamming horrible jokes and profanity. The game truly decreased in quality, especially in the past year. So many good memories

Default Heh

June 2005
"Changed Signet of Capture so that it now targets dead boss monsters. When you use the signet, you are presented with a menu of all of the dead boss monster's skills, and can capture any skill of your choice. This eliminates the need to keep boss monsters alive while trying to capture their skills, and will substantially reduce the difficulty of capturing certain skills that are rarely cast by boss monsters."

I remember when there was no pre-searing.

And when I beat Thunderhead Keep first time, and try, with a pug, as a level16 necromancer with only Blood is Power, Well of Blood, and Resurrection Signet on my bar. - That was a good time.

That now seems so long ago, still remember a bunch of them hanging out at Fishermen's Haven - on that little Island.

Getting my first character through the game without a max weapon, didn't see one drop until after I got through.

lol - just remembered, first char fighting from Yak's to Beacon's, via Ice Tooth Cave. Friend told me about the 2 missions in Northern Shiverpeaks after. Did the same thing from Bergen Hot Springs to Druid's Overlook.
Looking back, that was fun. Get in a group or hench it and head out a portal.

Probably my favorite memory was when a friend and I henched it from Camp Rankor to Beacon's Perch. Finding a Statue of Grenth in Lornar's Pass. I loved playing in the Southern Shiverpeaks.

Selling stacks of wood and glittering dust in Droknar's Forge , monks and necros were always buying.

Days to be fondly remembered and not seen again I'm afraid. Still play, mostly because a few friends still do and we do still have fun - most of the time.

I remember not knowing that Elite skills existed, until I got the the Desert and captured my first one, Marksman's Wager.

I remember selling 15 wood to someone in Ascalon City, because he was saying that he was buying all wood, and I thought 15 was a fair bit.

I remember getting sad seeing Post-Searing for the first time, and how pretty it wasn't anymore. I also remember reaching Kryta, and taking screenshots everywhere because I thought it was so pretty.

I remember a kind soul giving me, a level 8 Ranger, a max damage gold longbow (no bonuses); in the days that having a max damage weapon meant something, and a low level character was almost guaranteed to be a new player.

I remember purchasing Res Signet in Ascalon City, because I didn't do even half the quests in Pre-Searing.
